1st Club Pheasant Hunt of Year Not Stopped by Snow

Twenty members showed up for the 1st club pheasant hunt of the year.  Unfortunately the snow put a damper on the habitat, literally.

We had 3"-5" inches of snow on the fields by 10 AM and it was still coming down heavy when the two brave teams of hunters ventured out to the fields to begin.

Half the members stayed behind in the Field Camp, drinking coffee, staying warm and dry.  "One member said "it was just too nasty to hunt in that weather".  The other half gave it their best try.

Good for them!

2010 Year-End Deer Harvest Report: Youth Days, Bow, Muzzleloader, Firearm

Bob Fenton, Chairman of the Arrangements Committee, said 37 deer were harvested; 15 bucks and 22 does.

Several deer were taken with bow in October and November.

We had 3 youth hunters harvest deer on Firearm Youth Day.

9 deer were harvested in Early Muzzleloader alone.

We had a good harvest to date, with Winter Bow still in season through January 31.  Stay tuned for the next report.
